The Finnish NGO Foundation for Human Rights (KIOS)
among people that come to close contact with people of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities: specifically, health practitioners, teachers, religious leaders. Ultimately, the target groups better appreciate sexual minority person’s needs and human rights concerns and how they persons can be supported in seeking equal treatment.
This is a community education project aimed at highlighting the human rights concerns of the LGB community, clarifying what the law actually says about sexual minority persons as citizens, and revealing strategies the community can use to seek legal reform and access better healthcare. The trainings reach out to sexual minority persons and activists in the various towns, opinion leaders (including religious leaders, health practitioners and persons working in the media) and civil society allies.
